Noah Metz helps companies structure and negotiate their most important business transactions. He provides tax counsel to boutique law firms to support their corporate deals. His clients are a mix of operating companies of all sizes across different sectors, as well as private equity funds.
As Counsel at Pacific Tax and Compensation Counsel, Noah delivers high-touch, small-firm service, backed by sophisticated large firm tax expertise. Noah embraces his clients’ tax challenges from the unique vantage point of each individual client, bringing a pragmatic approach that helps complete complex transactions with care and efficiency.

Noah received his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law, where he was a Kirschbaum Tax Scholar and received the Bruce I. Hochman Award for Excellence in Tax Law. Noah received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University, with majors in Psychology and Economics, with Honors. Prior to joining Pacific Tax and Compensation Counsel, Noah practiced as a tax associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP and at Paul Hastings LLP. Noah has published several articles in Tax Notes.
Noah spends his free time with his wife and two young children in San Ramon, California. He is an avid home brewer (a mix of sours, stouts, and IPAs), and he enjoys distance trail running in the hills of the East Bay.
